Federal Funding

In 2022, the Edge of Walton Community Project received notice that we successfully applied for the Tourism Relief Fund provided by the Government of Canada through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario). The $500,000.00 partnership was the lifeline we needed to regain our footing after COVID-19, make long-dreamt-about improvements to our facility, and prepare for future growth.

As a result of the funding, we were able to build and install serviced electrical camping sites, a natural swimming pond, an indoor learning centre with a bicycle and motorcycle teaching space and an indoor climbing wall. The fan-favourite rock wall on the existing climbing tower is also an element of this funding, as are the accessible bicycle and walking trails.

The support we received from FedDev Ontario ensures a legacy to our venue that is beyond what is acknowledged in the pictures below. We’re part of every visitor’s story, whether they are here for a camp, school, or motocross race and we remain with them long after they leave our long laneway. This funding has allowed us to continue to be a part of many core summer memories and give kids the opportunity to be just that – kids. Our appreciation goes beyond words.

The only time the bicycle park wasn’t busy was while we were sleeping this summer.
